Dental Implants
Dental implants replace missing teeth. This is the most preferred technique since the end results are closest to the natural tooth. There are multiple phases to having dental implants done. In some cases the first phase and second phase are combined. First phase is to have the infected tooth extracted and allow for healing time. Second, is to have an oral surgeon place the implant, this is a precisely planned and measured screw-like piece that is placed into the jaw bone just like the roots of the original tooth. A healing cap is placed on the implant and the tissue heals up and around that. Once the bone and tissue heal one is ready for the third phase. Third, is to have the implant restored. An implant restoration will be done at Metropolitan Dental Care. An impression will be taken and sent to our lab that will fabricate a custom crown that will replace the healing cap. The permanent crown will be screwed into the implant making an anatomically correct tooth.
